About the studio

We photograph buildings that have not been built yet.

Kallo is a New Zealand architectural visualisation studio. We work from IFC, so we start from the model your practice already maintains instead of building it a second time in someone else's software. The geometry you documented is the geometry that arrives in the image.

Who we are

We are a small practice working with architects, architectural designers, group builders and developers across New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Most of our work is residential: house and land ranges photographed across every facade and section, single homes for a consent or a launch, and the occasional multi-unit scheme.

We sit inside Seventy, which builds small homes here. That is not incidental. We spend our days in the same consenting environment, the same wind zones and the same cladding decisions as the people who send us models. When a drawing set says something unusual, we usually know why before we ask.

We are not a design studio. We do not draw your building, resolve your details, or offer an opinion on your plan unless you ask for one. If your export needs rebuilding before it can be photographed, we say so and price that separately rather than quietly changing your project on the way through.

We work in English, on New Zealand hours, and a person reads every model before we accept it. Each market is quoted and invoiced in its own currency: New Zealand dollars, Australian dollars or United States dollars, at the same published figure.

How we work

We start from your model
Every project begins with the file you already maintain. We read the IFC, tell you what it carries and what it does not, and scope the work against that rather than against a hopeful description.
We do not redesign your building
Materials, planting, weather and the hour of the day are ours to set. Proportions, openings, roof pitch and datum lines are yours, and they arrive in the image as you drew them.
We price before we start
A fixed quote and a delivery date come back before any work begins. Every service carries a published floor, so you know the shape of the number before you speak to us.
We label what we do
Where an image carries generative finishing, it says so: generative, dimensions approximate. We would rather lose a job than hand over a picture a council or a buyer could call misleading.
We keep your work private
Project files and images stay private unless you approve publication in writing. We will sign your NDA before the file moves, and we will delete on a date you set.

Why IFC

The file you already have is the brief.

IFC is the open exchange format that Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks and SketchUp all export. It carries the building as structured elements rather than as loose surfaces, which is what lets us light and dress a project without touching its dimensions.

It also changes what a revision costs. Because we render from your model, a cladding change or a different season means rendering the same view again rather than starting over, and it comes back in hours. That is why we built the studio this way.

If you do not have a clean IFC, send us what you do have. We will tell you honestly whether it is workable before you commit to anything.

We would rather show you than tell you. Send one clean model and we deliver one exterior image with one revision, at no cost and no obligation. Places are limited, and we take models only where they fit the scope below.
